A rocky start! Flight cancelled at 1.27pm! Despite ringing and ringing Qantas no response - Flight Centre to the rescue and I flew up the night before and stayed at Rydges. Met the gang and we flew out on time. Flight was 2.34 hours - such a pleasant change to European travel. NZ is a beautiful country and so close to Aus - we should come here more often.
Christchurch airport has hardly changed since we first came here -Ali was about 15. We have a large bus and trailer and there'a a festive air on board. Tonight we're at Terrace Downs and everyone's looking forward to the first day of golf. I 'm going to explore the walking trails - if I don't go clay pidgeon shooting or helicoptering over Lord of the Rings country!
